Straddie (again)

Sarah's sister Amy came back to Australia for a visit last weekend, and this past Saturday we took her over to Stradbroke Island. It was so amazing the first time we went, it was even better this time. The dolphins didn't put on as good of show for us as they did last time (we must have been really lucky that day) and we still saw a few whales off in the distance. This time we also saw some sea turtles playing in the gorge, and some massive Manta Rays swimming as we walked along the cliffs overlooking the water. The turtles were very cute, but we didn't get any good pics of them since they didn't stay above water very long, and my camera had run out of battery by the time we had seen the rays. Those manta rays looked sooo huge, even though we were far up, I really wish I could have gotten a pic. Surely we will go back to Straddie, better luck next time.

We have decided on a few of our future trips, and I am very excited! There is just so much to do here! August 2-6 we are going to Fraser Island to stay for a couple of nights. This is the largest sand island in the world! We are renting a 4x4 truck to explore the island, should be fun. Then August 11-16 we are flying up to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef, along with some awesome rainforests. The end of September is a toss up, possibly Tasmania. October 11-18 we are heading over to the south island of New Zealand, which has supposedly some of the prettiest sites in the world. At the end of November we are going to be off to the Whitsunday Islands with Sarah's parents, for some sailing around islands, again in the Great Barrier Reef. We will be getting to Sydney a few days earlier than we already have tickets for, so that we can stay a few days there, before heading back home. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, our stopover on the way back home, is in Tahiti for 5 nights. All this to say, more updates and tons of pictures will be on their way very shortly.
